All About Pocket Knives

Can't find anything out about this knife. Not in my CASE price guide that I just bought (the new parker book) and not on allaboutpocketknives . . . anyone tell me anything about this? Thanks.

1982 6347 1/2 stockman, smooth red appaloosa bone handles. Lots of limited runs and special orders then, not all of them are in the books. This pattern is not listed under 1982, but it is under 1980.

The SR in the number stands for "Smooth Rose" I take it!

found it on page 168 of jim sargent's 5th edition.

thanks guys for all the information. I appreciate the link to the price guide, but it doesn't show a 1/2 . . . what does the 1/2 signify? Didn't all these have a clip blade? Anyway . . . also, I was wondering about the fifth edition of Sargent's. I have the 6th edition, but it only prices knives up to 1970 . . . unless I'm missing something!

1/2 means clip blade. the book value was listed as $50.

That was not a special order but was a standard catalog knife. It was introduced in 1979 with polished CV blades and no shield, along with nine other smooth bone patterns. In late 81 0r 82 they were switched to the SS and shields were added...then the line was discontinued soon after that, so the SS models are rare. That line of 10 knives followed the Apaloosa 6220 from 1978 and these were Case's first move to do something different with bone colors and smooth bone.

They used the 1/2 to dewsignate the california clip blade, for some reason. Prior to that the calif clip blade 47 pattern was designated as the 63047.

Oh, as y'all were talking about the green one, I remembered I had one of those . . . this is a 1979 version.

Here it is . . . right along with what Knifeaholic says, there's no shield, and the model # is SG63047 . . . the clip blade is shaped differently (but the difference is VERY slight). It's just a bit wider than the smooth rose version.
