All About Pocket Knives

Here is one I picked up on eBay. I think it went under the radar.

Liberty Knife Company, New Haven Connecticut, 1919-1925. I could not find much more information than this other than that they were incorporated with the capital of $50,000, and the name of the principles of the Corporation. This information is from Goin's.

I believe the handles on this knife are celluloid. There is a line in the celluloid through the rear pin on the mark side. On eBay it appeared that a piece of the handle was missing. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was not the case, the line is part of the coloration of the handle. It appears someone has attempted to clean the knife up a bit. The darkness on the blades is an optical effect of my scanner.

Does anyone else know anything about the history of this company? I am really curious.

I've searched high and low...and most areas in between. Most everybody lists them, but with the same short lifespan, and less information than Goins.

It is a well made knife. The backsprings are like bear traps!
The fit & finish are very good. Just a blip on the radar of cutlery history.
Too bad they didn't last longer.
