Cattaraugus-Moose

I think this Cattaraugas has been rehandled,I bid on it on ebay,what do you think.Ive seen this same color handle on a Case 1940-1964,Carpenter Whittler.And you said it was a fake so I find another with the same color handles.What do you think.Tankman

I have the identical knife (in minty condition) with similar bone in my collection. The bone color on mine is lighter brown but the same jigging. IMO it is one of the later knives produced by Cattaraugus when they still made pocketknives, maybe 1930's to 40's. Not the same level of fit and finish as on the earlier knives.

The pattern number is correct and that is often not the case for the knives that were assembled later from parts.
