All About Pocket Knives

I picked this up because it looked cool in a pawn shop in Smethport, PA while deer hunting last season out of Sinnemahoning SP. I've seen one other like somewhere but don't recognize the maker. The etch and tang stamp say "Walden Knife Co." It is stamped as made in the USA but no other markings aside from the shield that has RWC on it.

Can anyone tell me who made this knife? I've attached a couple of pictures.

It is a well made knife. I've thought maybe Queen but I've not seen this pattern in their line.

I think Bear & Son. Not sure.Someone with more knowledge should turn up.

Grant, I believe you nailed it. They make that frame and razor blade so putting them with a clip point would be easy. Mystery solved. Thanks.

Stuart Taylor purchased the rights to the Schrade Corp. intellectual property after Schrade went bankrupt and closed in 2004. Those knives and some similar ones with amber bone handles were early offerings from Taylor as he began utilizing the Schrade Corp. brand names. I don't think the knives were made by Bear and Sons for long, maybe a year or so. After that most all the Schrade related cutlery that I've seen has been produced in China.
I guess one way of looking at it is that these are the very last American made Schrade related knives. Or, you might say they are a transition piece between the original Schrade U.S.A. cutlery and the current Schrades made in China.

Don't forget about the Schrade Fire & Ice series, Walden Knife Co and Schrade Autos built by GEC. Probably some of the finest quality 'Schrade' knives produced in the last 50 years......if not ever.

The single pin on the handle is usually a Bear trait. They make nice knives.

Phil they were made:

2007 for the Schrade Fire & Ice Trappers
2009 for the Walden Knife Co
2008 - Present for the Autos.....last one was just released in Oct 2013
