New fixed blade.

This knife was a recent surprise gift to me by a good friend. It is the result of his first attempt at a finished fixed blade. Steel is believed to be A2 (from a saw blade), handles are African Paduuk. He also made the hand sewn sheath himself, another recent hobby of his. The man is extremely gifted and generous. A special knife to me and one I will treasure. Tangoalpha.

That is an extremely impressive first effort. The knife and sheath both look like the work of someone who had been making knives for years. I'm amazed.

Philco,
This guy can turn his hand to almost anything he is extremely talented. I had previously seen his work in wood and metal in areas related to firearms, he had done some stockwork for me a couple of years ago. Along with all of that he is extremely modest about his talents. He only took up leatherwork last year.

Nice work!
If that is what is happening at the starting line I can't wait to see the race.

Your friend is very talented. I really like the handle design. What type of grind does she have?

Tank, the knife has a flat grind. That handle design is very comfortable indeed.

Hi Jerry, I hope you and yours enjoyed the holidays. Christmas was very good to me. My friend who made the original knife in this post called in to see me Christmas Eve to give me another knife he had made. This one is a little longer than the first at around eight inches with a four inch blade, A2 steel with a flat grind, Coolibah tree burl handles. I am very fortunate to have such a friend.

Fortunate indeed friend. On top of a beautiful knife it carries the intrinsic value of of being made by a friend.
