All About Pocket Knives

Hey Guys,

I thought of something tonight I have thought of time and time again. For all of us GEC Fans, when I purchase a serialized edition of a GEC knife, I'm glad it comes, in most cases, the Famous 'Christine Tucker's Signature' I really prefer non-serialized knives but I suppose there is something good in everything.

I guess what I'm saying is Christine's' signature is hers, hard to duplicate. I don't know how many times I've seen her signature, I'm Sure too many. But long after I turn to dirt or ash, it will be difficult to dispute a GEC C.O.A.

Not to knock any other reputable cutlerly company out there, but one has about 4 or 5 different type C.O.A.'s Sorry Don't understand that, either it is, or it isn't.

I second that bonehead, everytime I purchase a serialized I expect to see her signature. if I didn't see it, I would think something fishy was up... I don't know how she does it! All these years! All those knives! Wow!

And as they used to say back in the day, she has a very good hand. I understand today's kids are not being taught cursive. That's a dirty shame.

My degree is in engineering graphics, Due to all the pretty printing, that is in lead on the drawings, I lost my cursive many years ago. I suppose that indicates my age.

On the flip side, I sure wish I lost my other cursive with it , I think it may have gotten worse............... Bonehead

I knew there was one other that signed the C.O.A.'s in Christines' absence. Couldn't remember "Patti Prosper" Early prototypes were always signed by Ken Daniels, but I believe in the his later years one would find more prototypes with Christine's signature, would you agree?

I recently came across Patti Proper's name and sent an inquiry to GEC,reassured by Christine that it was legit, as mentioned, "in Christine's absence"

I agree___after 2010,most all the knives had the famous ""Christine Tucker"" signature !!!! ____Bill Howard better ,keep her happy,or there might not be a "'GEC""

You mean "handwriting". It started downhill when they decided it was cursive or some such $#%+!!!

I do mean "handwriting". Also known as script, joined-up writing, joint writing, running writing, or handwriting, depending on where you're from and when. It's been called cursive since at least the 1700s and it wasn't my mother who was the first to say someone had a "good hand".

If you ever get the chance to meet Christine Tucker, you'll know she is one great lady. She really is one of the reasons for GEC's success. She wears many hats at GEC and can fill any position there, including the production of making knives. I was fortunate to see her last year at Blade and we had a wonderful time talking about some of the exciting knives coming out of GEC. I also got to see Ken and Ryan Daniels who now own Queen Cutlery and Tuna Valley Cutlery. They are coming out with some great new designs and as always, will only settle for the best product made in the USA.

This is all great to hear and I know from personal experience that Chris is top drawer when it comes to anything GEC related.
