"BOYS KNIVES"

I have always been curious about these knives. Boys knives are very interesting to me personally, I wonder if others feel the same. While there's the obvious brands such as IKCO or Imperial, many were made by companies outside of the U.S. like Geo. Westonholm, Kastor Bros. and many more. Let's see what everybody has! I'm mainly talking about the ones that had embossed on their metal wrapped handles phrases like I-KUT, BOYS FAVORITE, COMPANION, 5cts KNIFE, DIME KNIFE and so on. Some even had EASY OPENER embossed on them. This is a much latter made, 1950/60s metal wrapped painted handle boys knife,,,kind of. I think you could actually order these in the back of comic books back then, they came in red, black or blue.

Singin46,

Here is a twin. The only one I have. Much in need of a cleaning but surprisingly its snaps well and is tight.

Yep Bonehead, looks like the very same knife. ::tu:: Hopefully mine will be tight overall as well. Now I just need to find an original chain that came with it.

Dadgumit! I'm not sure how you did that D. I typed in boys knives and got no threads at all about them. Guess you gotta be a Moderator.

WOW, thanks for shown that one Joe! SCHOOL KNIFE huh? That's wild! ::ds:: I know D, that's what I did but didn't use the apostrophe tho. All these threads came up with any use of "boys". Some of the knives had used the apostrophe but some didn't.

This one is currently available on the internet.

It's missing its bail and chain, but it's a sweet little knife.

I'm a bit shy of celluloid right now.

I can see why you would be shy about celluloid Charlie, this one looks like its on it's way to outgassing by the looks of those pins on the handle.

Well There's no question this is a boys knife.... Here is a Shapleigh's "Every Boy" Guaranteed, No metal but wood handles.

You know all, This is perhaps one of my favorites of my entire collection, I'm serious.... not much here by the knife itself but I know it has lot's of history to share. I do know the approximate age, earlier than 1972 but if anyone knows a better time line please let me know. When I look at the tang stamping it says earlier?

Here's one more for the show.
A "BEST" "TENT MARK" by Richards Sheffield. The stamp on this one DOES NOT have there signature lamp post! ::shrug::
Only one I have seen without it.

I would guess the 1950s bonehead but just a guess. There is no information on this particular tang stamp in Goin's. Sorry

Here's the Richards Sheffield Boys knife card I got off Iron Horder.
The graphics are pretty cool on this one - a standing young man, hands on hips, gazeing, looking upward into the wild blue yonder.
