Stamp is Sheffield;the S didn't fit on the tang. The master blade looks pretty well buggered up.

I should've thought of that, I was reading some iberson knives are manufactured by some well known cutlers. No home run on this knife, yes it does look like like someone with great expertise tried to sharpen the master blade (lol). Thanks for the help

Goins says..."G. IBBERSON MADE IN ENGLAND c 1700-1988....In 1953, they (Ibbersons) were at the Violin Works, Rockingham Street, Sheffield. They made all types of cutlery, including Bowie type knives. G. Ibberson used the trademarks violin and double sharp.
Underneath the write up, Goins has two schematic drawings, one of a violin with 1873 under it, and one with a double sharp with 1932 under it.
