Is this the worst fake or reproduction Remington?

Picked this up knowing it was either a fake or reproduction. It's sad when I'm even buying fakes and enjoy it. Luckily I didn't pay much for it.

Does anyone know if it's a fake or reproduction?

Steel reminds me of some of the German made reproductions. Almost like a tool steel.

Believe it or not the shield is pinned but look how it's just setting on the handle and not inlay-ed.

No pattern number. I wonder if it was based after a real Remington pattern.

Spun pins. Nice.

Half stops. Nice.

Real tight springs & great snap. Nice.

Handles seem to be bone. Nice.

Leaning towards reproduction. Anyone else have any ideas?

I think it's a Wrigley advertising model, similar to the Baby Ruth knife in this thread.

Thanks Dimitri.

Do you have any more information on this? It doesn't have a pattern number. Do you know what the pattern number is? Do you know what year it was manufactured? To me it looks too good/new to be an original Remington.

It is R1823. It originally had an ink stamp... Probably made in the late 30's.

WOW. After reading that article I'm a believer. Guess I won't put this one in the POS roundtable this year. It still looks way too good & clean to me but if y'all say it's real then I'll go with that.
