pen knife

just picked up old pen knife says united states tire on handles, valley forge tang stamp VF in circle,I know about valley forge but can not find info on- united states tire-to date knife ,will try to get picture on tomorrow by the way anyone know what camera is good for close ups

the tang you mention was in use and owned by boker usa till 1950. united states tire may have been a local tire store somewhere or a defunct tire manufacturer. a picture might help. i did a search on us tire and found nuttin.

Hi leepost....I may be talking out of my backside here, I'm no good with digital cameras, but I do know film cameras...good close-up lenses have what is called "macro" capability...

The same may be true with digital camera lenses...it may also be true that my camera knowlege is hopelessly antiquated...so take the "macro" thing for what its worth...

If you go with a digital camera,you most definitely want to have a macro setting..if not,the pics will be blurry and tang stamps will be unreadable...
Heres some that I have had good luck with:Canon powershot series,HP photosmart series and the Sony cybershots. ::tu::
