All About Pocket Knives

Kershaw makes some great tactical knives for under $100. Out of the tactical knives I own, I think Kershaw gives you the best bang for your buck.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "tactical flair", but if you mean knives with a unique look I'd suggest you look at Mantis Knives and Quartermaster Knives. Both make some pretty cool knives in my opinion.

You may also want to look at Boker's Plus line. They've been licensing designs from well-known knifemakers and they're decent quality.

The above suggestions are all worthwhile. I like some of the Speyderco models. Also Cold Steel makes suitable, rugged knives. For me the word "tactical" is vague, mostly a marketing term. Perhaps you want a knife that looks somehow military, or you want to have a knife dedicated for defensive purposes. If you plan to carry on a daily basis then, depending on your local situation, you may be better off carrying a knife that does not look military or intimidating. Its difficult convincing the judge that your all black (or camo) knife model labeled the "Back Ally Terminator" is used only to open a bag of Doritos.

Try to find Tactical Knives magazine which will carry a wide selection.
