All About Pocket Knives

Well, I may have this scanner thing down...be gentle on my scanning...

Here the first slippie I bought for myself (got it about a week and a half ago). It's an Eye Brand Brown Smooth Bone Mini Trapper. I've been eating apples with it for the last week, so the patina is a work in progress.

I'm no expert, but it seems to be a very nice knife. The only downside is that, when closed, the clip blade wiggles a bit. The finish is smooth - none of the pins are proud (is that the right word?) and there are no sharp edges (I've heard that can be the case with Eye Brand, especially in stag). The blades are sharp as far as I'm concerned, and they SLAM shut. The color of the bone ranges from black to deep red. The knife is heavier than it looks to me, if that makes any sense.

I'm very happy and I suppose that's all that counts!

On second thought, don't be gentle with my scanning. Input is appreciated! (Its kind of like the Mac/PC commercial...I'll blow you away with a spreadsheet or document formatting, but make an image, put a song on a MP3 player...forget it.)

(Further note on the sharpness of the Eye Brand: Plenty sharp...it just got me! Small clean nip on the finger that I didn't feel...)

I get better results with a digital camera,my scanner pics suck!!

The picture is ok but the knife is super I like German Eye and it has great steel to get scary sharp. Enjoy your purchase and thanks for sharing with us..

One bit of technology at a time johnnie! I'm just getting this scanner thing down. It always amazes me that the carbon steel traditional throwback slipjoint crowd has so many digital cameras. I figured there would be mostly mid-70s vintage fully manual SLR types (like me!).

sunburst...you bring up a vexing dilemma I am in the middle of, i.e., another knife (Case Red Bone CV peanut) or something to make knives scary sharp with (Sharpmaker)...decisions, decisions...

I always go with what I am most comfortable with and would recommend that to you as well. We each have our level of comfort using the many gadgets that makes things sharp. I am personally a little old fashioned and use an oversized Red Diamond Stone for my cutting edges..
