All About Pocket Knives

How does the Buffalo Horn hold up in a pocket with keys, etc? Does it keep it's nice luster? What about the smooth synthetic handles? Do they keep their good looks in an EDC situation. I would like to EDC one of these beauties, but I don't want to screw it up.

Any knife carried daily will develop some patina. I have found that bone, horn, and stag do very well over the long term. The only knife that I have had a real problem with is an ivory micarta custom. My car key thob keeps making black marks on it.

Never carried a "'Buffalo Horn""-- but, I don't think the horn will hold it's ""Luster"", if carried ( the Rams Horn ""DID NOT"" that I carried***) as for as damage from keys,coins ect.,no damage other than any other handle material___the horn seems to get a powdery white look after a few months in the pocket___the acrylic handles, hold their ""new luster look"" much better____showing an example of two Rams Horn,below___good luck,Monk

i really like the looks of the one that you packed i would like to see the other side.If that was my knife it would be in my pocket every day till i wore it out thanks for showing it

You should see the stag one he caries lolololoI think monk told the story on the aapk knife I think he leant it to a friend and he gave it back like that

wow i would like to see the stag one you are talking about and i would like to see the other side of that club knife i have the rams horn club knife thanks to big monk but it is just to purty to put in my pocket i would like to have one just like that one thats already been packed and sharpened that way i could keep mine nice and purty in my collection and pack that one and show everbody my club knife and brag about AAPK and tell them how awsome all the folks around here are

thanks big monk for posting a pic of the other side i have to say i really like it. Thanks to you i have the rams horn club knife but i just cant bring myself to put it in my pocket cause its to purty but if i had a used one like that one it would stay in my pocket.That 73 scout that you have packed for three years looks like it has only been packed for maybe a week if that and that 72 stag lock back that you have packed for 3 years also and say it is your work knife doesnt look to have been packed much eather you take good care of your knives. I have been packing this tidioute 73 every sence the round table where you sent me it and a new your knife look at the difference in mine and yours. yours look brand new where as mine looks like ive packed it for 20 years lol and that black buffalo horn eo i couldnt put it in my pocket eather

Randy, I've been using my GEC 792312 with the buffalo scales since they came out. The horn has been holding up very well from a durability standpoint. It will get skuffed up some what but than again that's what's keys and coins do. It will look faded after awhile so when you "oil the joints" just put a little on the horn. Mikek
