Case pattern blade lengths

Would be interested to know if there is a listing of spec. Case knife pattern blade lengths in any publication. It would be nice to be able to check blade lengths on a used knife whenever one chose to do so.

That would be helpful.
I use a rule of thumb to determine the correct length for knives. I take the length of the knife, say 3 5/8" subtract 1" (to get 2 5/8") and then add the two together, in this case 3 5/8" + 2 5/8" = 6 1/4" the approximate full length of a 3 5/8" knife. Of course, this method doesn't work on all knives, in particular pen knives, but it's at least something to hang your hat on if you don't have better information.
Much better is to have a picture looking down on the knife with the blade closed. The point of the main blade should be pretty close to the end of the knife and almost always it should extend into the cap. Of course, I collect a lot of used knives and it's not as critical to me to make sure that the blade is the exact right length (mint), but I still want to have the blade within 1/4" of full length.

Thank you-I will use your method. It is the best I have heard!
