What's a saw blade doing on the screwdriver blade?

Apparently this is an SFO and that's how it was ordered. It's supposed to be a drywall saw.

Ahh, a little bit of everything for the Renaissance Tradesman. Anyone know who Steve Rice is?

Looks like a good work knife... I bet it comes in handy to quite a few ppl.

Makes perfect sense to me. I can't count how many times I've used the saw on SAK to cut a hole for an outlet or light switch. Just the right size tool for the job.

Like Steve Rice posted before GEC is coming up with a Tidioute Electricians Knife with wood handles. I think I prefer it over the olive drab Micarta handles of the STR-version.
Hope it somes out soon...

The first STR-Electricians Knife is soon to be delivered. Doesn´t look too bad at all with the green Micarta handles!
I am not too keen on a sheepsfoot so I will wait for the spear point though...

Congratulations! That long pull spear blade is my favorite. I have it on a charlow and a boys knife.

I also have a Sheepfoot Charlow, and it has become a favorite for food. I think the Electrician with a Sheepfoot makes a lot of sense too. I love the long pulls on either blade.

The new GEC SFO from Steve Rice came today! I don´t know what it is about electricians knives that floats my boat but I guess this won´t be my last. Anyhow, it is made by GEC so that means quality for me. Tidioute Cutlery already made them in cocobolo and I wonder what more there is to come in the future.

My email from STR last week says they are charging $85 + shipping outside the U.S. and $90 shipped in the U.S.
I was considering getting one, but am not used to paying shipping on New GEC products, and I am still on the fence about the way the pivot pin is finished......but the Green Micarta is AWESOME!!

I agree with trevor, that pin just drives me crazy.

They are supposed to be like this for strength. Many of the old knives had this style pin especially on a knife that would see hard use or twisting action such as a screwdriver blade.

Not trying to do that Just trying to explain the reason they do this on working type knives such as horticultural, electricians, sportsman`s, etc.

Here is a picture of a 19th century pocket knife, note the pin head, and the fact it has a short stubby screwdriver blade.

That´s interesting MB! A lot of german hunting knives are made like this. I always wondered why they are not flush with the bolsters, even on expensive ones.

Now this is a Christmas present I'll use. At 3.5" it's pocket friendly, the long pull make's it easy to open and I like the swedge and finish on this one. The Ebony handle's are right for a working knife and the driver blade will come in handy. Not sure what I'll use the saw for but I will figure out something.....
