All About Pocket Knives

Is this a Buck? If so what model is it? I couldn't find anything like it online under Buck and the knife doesn't have a factory stamp. It's 5" closed with about a 3 1/2" blade. Thanks!

That is a Rigid R19 Apache with the drop point blade. Some of the guy's at Buck defected to start up their own knife factory and that was how Rigid got their start. No affiliation with Rigid of Japan!

I don't know who would have done the blade engraving?

Youdda MAN! Do you recognize the handle material? Its one of a set of 5 1973 Shaw-Leibowitz engraved lockback knives (except for the P-172) and Im trying to list the set on eBay. Thanks.

Engraved by Sherrill Shaw and Leonard Leibowitz - the set is 1/50 produced in 1973.

I would guess the handles to be Rosewood or Cocabola. The 2 R19's that I have are darker but that doesn't always mean much. I can't think of the blade stlye mine have but they are not drop points but rather the Buck knife 110 looking blade. You can certainly see the Buck Knife influence in most of the Rigid knives that were produced back in that era. I believe they were located in Santee, California. Got a extra sheath???????????

Sorry, no sheath, it came in this case with the four other knives in the set.

Nice set! Myself, I would keep it but that's just me. You would have been able to see the word "Rigid" USA if not for the engraving. If I can figure out how to post a picture I will put my R19's on here so you see what I am referring to.
