All About Pocket Knives

I have seven or eight tested knives and all of them have the closed C shield. I see a lot of tested knives on eBay with the open C shield. Are either correct? I thought all of the tested knives had the closed C one.

In regards to the "closed C ", quoting from the book, COLLECTING CASE KNIVES, by Steve Pfeiffer (aka knifeholic), on page 25 he says, "Many knives with the CASE TESTED tang stamping will also be found with this "open C" shield.

Correct...I would be somewhat more cautious in buying a Tested with the open C shield but they are not uncommon.
