All About Pocket Knives

As we all Know there is a lot of diversified interest in Pocket Knives among the members of AAPK. This simple poll is for Fun Only....

If one could truly ignore monetary Value of knife And If there were (1) Century Omitted for this selection, the 20th. Would you Prize a 19th Century Knife, or a 21st Century Knife. Remember, Value is not considered here.

Given the parameters you have set, I'd go for the older ones.

I wonder which one I should pick??

While I respect the old stuff, I don't admire it. Ducking for cover as I say, I like shiny. 21st Century. (Since I'm not allowed, I'm not even going to mention that other century. )

I went with 19th Century, as long as it doesn't have CSA stamped on it (for counterfeiting reasons ).

I went with the 19th because thats when the workingman really had to rely on a good tool and they were really pocket worn

I had to go with the old ones. I've been too disappointed by "21st century" makers to do otherwise.

Though I don't have any 19th Century knives, most are early to mid 20th Century, I would go with the old knives.

I went older cause sometimes you get to enjoy a pattern or style that they don't make anymore...

So, I did not vote.

I would prefer the old ones - esp. Knives that talk, and tell a story.

The old ones are what catches my eyes. To me they was made by people who took pride in what they where making.

Older. The amount of work involved using the available knife making techniques from the 19th century really dictates my answer. I appreciate the hard work involved. In addition, the styles are very appealing. Also, the sense of mystery given when holding an old knife tends to be larger and I think that it is the reveling in that mystery which makes me enjoy knife collecting so much.

Nothing for me like getting an oldie and researching it and pondering where she's been.

All thank you! All said it was an interesting Poll. Some of you folks I knew, or had a feeling, were new or old engaged. Pulling out the prominent century for most if not all of us, forced a decision to the direction. It was nice to here comments on both ends....

That said it would have interesting if the 20th was included. Perhaps even more so if it was limited say 19th Century through 1950..... and 1951 through 2013??
