Another Case knife question

I recently acquired this nice little walnut bone Case. According to the seller, it was made in 1978. Is there any way to tell for sure the manufacturing date? The inscription on the back of the main blade reads "6232". Front tang reads "CaseXX" over "USA".

Thanks
Dewman

Never mind....

....I think I just answered my own question. It has two dots under the "USA", and according to the Case info, that would indeed indicate it was made in 1978.

Any idea of the value? New in the box, still wrapped in the factory tissue. Probably the sharpest "out of the box" knife I've ever bought other than a double edged Schick razor blade!

The knife certainly looks "mint" in the photo. You can often get over $50 for these, sometimes $75, depending who is buying. I doubt it would go near $100 though. A fair price is $50-60, IMO.

thats a great looking knife dewman. i need one of those for my collection. i agree, on ebay it would more than likely bring about 50-60 and possibly a bit more. thats not the original box for the knife but with those older case knives its not too important in my opinion. anyway, it looks like a keeper to me!
