Which #15 Set Up?

Hi Folks,

New to this forum...

I think my first GEC is going to be a #15 Boys Knife with red jigged bone. I'm leaning toward clip point, two blades, no back bolster.

I'm planning to use it to fill out a Nessmuk-style trio, with a GB Mini Hatchet and an ML Kephardt.

Question: What do y'all think is the most classic or traditional set up with the Boys Knife? Clip or spear? Back bolster or not?

Regards

Welcome to AAPK. Glad to have you aboard.

The #15 Boys Knife is a great choice for your 1st GEC. My personal opinion is the pattern with the spear blade is the one with the most classic look. As far as a bottom bolster or not, that's a personal choice although, as you can see from the picture, I think the bottom bolster rounds out the classic look.

It's all about personal taste.

I think the Antique Yellow Bone is the ""Up-Most Traditional""_______clip or spear ::nod:: ___but the Red Bone is nice too !!!! :)

Bare headed and spearpoint is the way to go in my book. I had to settle for the clip in yellow bone as the spear was only available with double bolsters
