All About Pocket Knives

This is the forth set of auctions for Johnnie Sample's (johnnierotten) widow Lisa. The money raised will all go to Lisa to help her with her expenses.

The object of course is to raise as much money as possible for Lisa to help with her expenses.
We will have 5 knives up for auction this week, bid early, bid often but bid to win!

Here is how the auctions will work:

I will list the knives in the order in which I receive the pic of the knives via PM. The sellers have these knives and will mail them to the winner of each auction when it is confirmed that the payments have been received. If you want to include a $5 bill with your payment for the seller to help with the shipping, I have no doubt it would be appreciated.

1) When a winner has been declared for each auction, I will notify the winner with the address of where to send the payment.
2) For the sake of simplicity and security we are asking all payments be made by money order or PayPal. Money orders should be made out Pay To The Order Of: Lisa Samples.
3) If you elect to pay via PayPal, please tell me when the auction is over & I will send you the PayPal email address for your payment.
4) When I have received the money order for the auction, or have been notified that they payment has been completed by PayPal, I will notify the seller and give him/her the winner’s mailing address. At that point the seller will mail the knife to the winner.
5) At the conclusion of each set of auctions I will forward the money orders to Lisa.




This knife up for auction is a CASE XX 9327 Small Stockman.
This knife was donated by Jerry (zp4ja). Thanks Jerry! If anyone has a question about the knife post it here and Jerry can post his answer.

When The Auction Ends

This auction will run for one week, until 12 Noon Pacific Time, Friday July 26, 2013, if there have been no bids within 1 hours of that time. If there have been bids, the auction will continue until such time as there are no bids for 1 hour. At that time the high bidder will be declared the winner.

Payment by money order or PayPal only please.
Make the money order payable to Lisa Samples.
Upon receipt of payment the knife will be shipped.


I want to personal thank all the AAPK members who donated their knives for these auctions to remember Johnnie and to help Lisa.
Also I would like to thank all of the AAPK members who are bidding on these knives.

So Dave, you asked for it! Glad you did actually because I did some research and found out some interesting info on years made.
So the knife is referred to as the "Stockman Sunday Dress" knife by some collectors. Others refer to it as the "Tiny Stockman" due to it's overall length closed, a whopping 2-3/4". I could be wrong but this frame is among the smallest of the 3 bladed knives that CASE offered.

I happen to own a mint Catalog#68 from CASE and some price lists that help narrow down years made within the 24 year long XX era for instance as in the case of this knife. I see this knife in the #68 catalog and price list dated March 1, 1962 but I do not see it in any price lists prior to 1959'. Cost in the 59' price lists was $66 per dozen wholesale. This data pertains only to the knife in question, a CASE XX 27 pattern handled in Imitation Pearl. I understand that they made a Cracked Ice handled 27 frame also in XX and I understand only in XX era.

So best I can tell on this knife, made for 6 years at the tail end of the CASE XX era, 1959' to 1964'. Finally discontinued in 1973' in the frame and handle.

A fine knife for a good cause and I don't see a dime of the proceeds. All the dollars go to help out Lisa. Perfect little knife in my opinion for a coin pocket carry.

Here is a pic of the pile side of the knife. Never sharpened, used or carried. Personally, I don't think it has been cleaned either. Clean inside and out. No brass on this knife. All nickel silver pins, liners, etc. Pretty little knife in my opinion and could due some serious tasks if required for it's small size as it is well built.
