If you're playing "stump the band" I think you may be the winner. My knife books show nothing for that tang stamp. I tried a Google search as well and came up empty other than lots of listings for Johnny Walker scotch. I have no reason to think there is a connection between the knife and the whiskey, but anything is possible. Hopefully someone else will be able to shed some light on this one.

Helluva knice knife! May have been a promotion - buy a bottle of JW Blue and get a free knife.

Good luck finding this one. It sounds a little far fetched but I'll bet it is related to the whiskey one way or the other. I even looked in my advertising cutlery book and got nothing. This one is going to be tough to find.

Well I will list it on Ebay soon. Don't know what to call it but that's the wait goes. I listed 2 J Russell Green River knifes today. A 1976 bicentennial Hunter and a 35-254 hunting knife in sheath. I also have a German ww1 bayonet to sell in scabbard.

Johnnie Blue ain't cheap, like $250 for a 750ml! Guess throwing in a knife helps ease the wallet.


Edit: I just noticed something- it's "Johnny" not "Johnnie."

Hey Butterknife, did you ever find any other info on your Johnny Walker knife? My father just gave me one, the same markings on the tang with a horn handle. Also just curious, what did you sell it for nice years ago? Thanks.

Hey Clockman! JFYI, the last post in this thread prior to yours is almost 10 years old, so I don't know if you'll get a response. But I'd like to you to AAPK anyway!

The knife looks like a fairly generic type made by several Solingen makers in mid-20th century. Made for the export market, they stamped various “Anglo” sounding names on them, plus of course “Solingen Germany”. Some had blade etchings of deer, forests, and such. That’s about all the “history” there is on these. They are nice looking, nicely made quality knives, useable or collectable, but generally not high value. Probably sold for around $5-$10 in 1960. Good luck searching for more specifics about the name stamped on them. JMO. Search eBay sold listings for Solingen (or Germany) fixed blade knife for more variations in stamp names, and current values.
