Hi don't really know much about that one. Seems like it is advertising a company perhaps related to the oil/gas industry. Edwin Blyde was in business until sometime in the 1970s. :) s-k

There are lots of different perspectives on cleaning. If you search for cleaning you will find a number of posts on the topic. If it is one for the collection I do 'tidy' it a little, remove gunk from inside the handle, clean bone or stag handles, gently remove any rust, oil the joint. I do my best to avoid anything abrasive or that might disturb the patina etc. :) s-k
