Just got my first Canal Street folding hunter 212309 5 1/4' closed. What a super looking knife. First knife I have gotten that all I need to do to her is oil the joint and Ren-Wax her. Just like my S&M's in fact I feel they are both the same Quality. I see now Bryan has more of them. I bought his last one but more came in now. I am going to use his Photo cuz he did it so well and better than my photos. The box is so long I have to place her with my D'Holders fixed blades. Now that's not a bad place to fit in. Amazing only $70.50 for all she is.
Bryan what other Canal Street knives do you have that look just like these scales? Man Fantastic color and finish.

But the real thanks is to Canal Street for I would say out doing S&M's for the price you sell them for. I fell I will give it one more try just to compare a Canal Street trapper to my S&M English Jack.
Would you all think this would be a fair contest?

If any of you here in AAPK Land like folding hunters get a Canal Street from Bryan. Compare it to another one you have and let us here know what you fell. To me it's like a Schrade but made by Queen's and still priced as an old Schrade. How can you beat that??
I am trying to save $1,000 to go to S&M factory (Queens) and Knife Show on July 20 & 21, but this Canal Street is making it very hard to save my $$$. 10 knives or 13 knives?? You do the math.
I have not herd of one flaw or bade blades or bad finish or any poor quality here on any Canal Street Knives.(or did I miss them?)

Some of you that got your first GE knives do you have a Canal Street to compare them to? Whats your feelings or is this to much to ask?

Hukk I know you have a super set (or more) of Canal Strees knives. I now see why too. I am old so I just learn slower. Can you show us again that set in cased in wood. PLEASE.

Some historical prospective on the price: This is very close to the Schrade Old Timer model 25OT, which had a MSPR of $49.95 at the end of it's run in 1993. Robert Clemente, in his fine little guide to Schrades,
estimated it's selling price if still being made in 2006 as $66.95-- and that is with Delrin, not bone handles.

We really are living in the golden age of pocket cutlery when a knife of Canal Street's quality can sell at such a price.

I wish they made a single blade version of this, with the brass liner lock on the clip blade ala Schrade 125OT.

That's a great knife Ken I bought the CS whittler from Bryan and I too am very pleased with the quality of the knife. Bryan has great prices and, not surprisingly, provides a first class service.
