Case Knives are made in Bradford, PA from U.S. steel. Tec-X is a brand of tactical knives the owners of Case are having made in China. No Case knives are being made in China.

w/o going back to threads of the time to refresh my brain cells
I will say based on my memory (which isn't what it used to be
and wasn't much above mediocre at it's best) the original Tec-X
announcement was made by W.R. Case on both their cCc forum
and in one of their quarterly magazines. After the avalanche of
outcries from Case collectors screaming FOUL! due to Case's
previous statements of their commitment to 'American made' philosophy is
when W.R.Case began to perceivably add some distance between their
traditional Bradford made knives and the new tactical Chiner made Tec-X.
Part of the W.R. Case announcements also revealed that the Tec-X program
had been under development for several years which means the China
production plans were underway at same time as the American made
& small town dealers advertising & marketing themes were in full swing.
The Tec-X seem to take a few months beyond the original release date to begin
showing up on a limited number of sources. Many Case dealers apparently
refused to carry the imported Tec-X.
I haven't seen any posts from tec-x owners showing, comparing or reviewing
their tec-x acquisitions or any advertising for them so I will assume that indicates
a very slow start for this late comer to this diverse & crowded tactical knife marketplace.

Sorry to only quote such a small part of what you said Wose, but it applies here. One of these dealers is a frequent poster on the Case Collector's Club Forum and he said from the start that he would not carry the Tec-X line. A few weeks ago he received a letter from Case telling him that his Case Dealership is being revoked. While they have refused comment on the matter, enough has been learned to know that the decision was made at the corporate level of Zippo (Case's parent company). It should also be noted that this dealer was #8 in sales for Case nation-wide. Between his decision not to carry the Tec-X line and his prices on the US made Case Brand being less than Smokey Mountain Knife Works and Shepherd Hills, many of us believe those two larger dealers wanted him out of the picture and pressured the owners of Zippo to get rid of him. It is also my personal belief that the decision to have knives made off-shore was a factor in the retirement of the former President and CEO of Case shortly after that decision had been made by the owners. Zippo is making Case lend their name to the Chinese products, but they are not made by Case no matter how much they try to associate the two brands. I guess what I'm asking here is that everyone needs to know and remember that this decision was forced on Case by the owners of Zippo and they have no choice but to live by it. This is why I remain loyal to the Case Brand, but refuse to buy any Chinese knife.
Thanks for your time.

Think you quoted the relevant part Bob, rest of it was just fluff.
Glad you filled in the blanks, I meant to type in what you added
but guess I either forgot or my typing finger cramped up.
Hate when that happens, don't you?
