I've seen this on some other manufacturer's knives. Chalk it up as a factory error. Not extremely uncommon.

...my $.02 for what it's worth...
I don't think it usually affects value much either way.
It seems that some people view it to be unique
...and others view it as a flaw

I'm curious to see how much it sells for.

BTW, Blades do look great, did I mention the Walnut handles, their Herringbone ypu know.

I agree with Johnnie,I've bought several knives from this seller also and he's always been very courteous with prompt delivery.

Thanks for pointing this knife out. I gave it a little ride but somebody is on it pretty good. Thanks also for pointing out a good fleabay seller. Sometimes it seems that all that gets the press time are the rotten sellers. Maybe we ought to start a thread of our most trusted sellers on there and our reasons for our trust!!

I turned my laptop upside down and the knife looks fine to me. I like it. When one is actually using the knife the shield is the right way up. s-k

It is possible that this knife may go higher than any of the others we've seen on eBay. There is a segment of the knife collecting community that just collects the cosmetic error types we see here. Upside down shields, mis-spelled tang stamps and so on.

I'm glad to hear that this is one of the good seller's on eBay as I'm waiting for a GEC Tidoute #73 with Bakote scales from him.
