All About Pocket Knives

I saw these 4 Bulldog Tobacco King Sowbellies on eBay and thought they will make a good poll to vote on. The Question is, how many of these are real first generation knives?

A couple hints, we have had these knives in our discussions before.
If you have them, Parker's Pocket Knife Traders Price Guide check the differences between vol 3 and vol 7, the books themselves will give the answer.

Being from Kentucky I sure do like the knife on the top. .

Enlarge the photos on ebay, there are at least 3 things that are different on this Kentucky Tobacco King than on the other 3 knives.

Spey blades certainly differ don't they?

OK Hukk, takin a shot here, Kentucky is not authentic because, 1. Main clip is staight, no bend in it. 2. leaf sheild is more of a point, others are not. 3.
one improper blade, sheepfoot blades. The authentic blades are Main Clip,Coping and Spey. One even has a pen blade

The tobacco leaf being pointy on the Kentucky is only 1 indicator that it could be the real one. Look at the differences in stag, blades, and serrations in the pulls, you're close.

Is the blade order correct in that KENTUCKY with 1 CLIP 1 COPING and 1 SHEEPFOOT? And the pull on the main is lower to the point of the blade?
Still tryin Hukk The stag is not matched from side to side or color is not showin as much white at the edge, cmon man. Others are too matched.

I actually thought the KENTUCKY was the fake originally. Because I thought
all blades on it were wrong except for the Coping blade. Now I'm a little lost.

Check the following.

1. Pointy tobaco leaf
2. STAG
3. The number of serrations in the pull

The Ky. knife is the real deal. I never noticed but some of the real ones have an extra pin holding the stag on. The good 1sts have the pointy shield but the real key is the stag. Serrations are a little hard to track even for us old timers, seems a few exceptions keep croping up. Not too hard when we can see the pictures of yours. That bright white on the ends of the stag is not nearly as desirable in my opinion, I would guess to most of us. THe Ebay market still is having a hard time but they are learning at least with regard to the top end. There are always a few knowledgable knife people around.

Yes, only one is a real first generation. Tom gives an excellent explanation!

I guess folks are starting to wise up, the seller did not meet the reserve by about $80.00 NO SALE! Only the Kentucky in my opinion was genuine by the differences described and pointed out in this post. Thanks to all who participated.
