It's definitely not an authentic 1920's era Union Cut. It's either a fake or its one of the many KA-BAR club knives that have been made over the years.

Thanks a million knifeaholic I was considering if I wanted to make an offer or not..I didn't realize that there were Kabar club look alike knives in the style of Union Cutlery..That's almost a dirty trick..

Yes, I wish they were all documented somewhere. A lot of people think that they are the real thing. Especially the ones with the Dogs Head shields. I would think that the club knives would have the year stamped somewhere on one of the tangs, but I do not know.

i found some ka-bar club lists and in i986 they had a chestnut bone with the union cutlery stamp, a stag with union razor co., black delrin with a ka-bar stamp and a chestnut bone with ka-bar stamp. they are all listed as 4 1/4"

HI Guys,

I am not an expert on Union past the Tidioute days, even given that earth shattering fact, this knife and the some of the others that he lists are not OLD knives. These, as has already been pointed out, are knives from the 80's.

I like to look at knives the same way you look at a women, "oh man this is going to get me into trouble for sure" An older, beautiful women should have all of the unique features of an older women. A older woman that has been "reworked" will reveal those items if you look close enough, A younger women who is trying to look older will also reveal those items if you look close enoughat them too, but with the younger women, you will get your fingers cut with the walk and talk, the older women will just appreciate you admiring her for what she is" VINTAGE with proper aging Man I can feel the heat coming from this one already "have a knife day"

More than likely both of us would be referred as chauvinistic, who cares!
You just taught me more about reading knives than I have garnered from others in the last 2 1/2 years. I am going to cut and save that analogy unless I hear different from you.

So, look for signs of lipo-suction, soaking in oils, implants, plastic surgery, wrinkle creams, false teeth, and miscellaneous stuff that helps defy gravity Sorry pa, something or some unknown force made this come off my keyboard.

Hi pa and everybody else....
How would you read THIS Woman? It's a Union, only it is of the Naugatuck variety(1851-85).
Even though one of her blades is broken(probably by some inconsiderate man), she still snaps(both blades), the way she did the day she was born. Also has half stops. She's kinda brassy in her own way and has a French pull. She's still a looker with only one obvious flaw. Smoooth and shapely. No wrinkles, despite being between 122 and 156 years old(she won't say, exactly).
What do ya'll think?
