My brother-in-law served in the Canadian Military for over 25 years, the last 15 as a Search and Rescue Tech. - trained in land, air and sea rescue. At our last family gathering I asked him what his standard issue knife was, and he surprised me by saying he had a box of knives that he had accumulated over the years. This particular knife was what he strapped in front of his secondary parachute, and was always there in case he got caught up in trees, or had to cut a tangled rope in an emergency. He has all kinds of knives that he has accumulated by trading with guys from other countries over the years, and my heart almost stopped when he said "here, this one is yours". I sure am proud to have this in my collection.

Great Looking knife Lawrence. I really like the looks of Grohmann made knives. Its neat that the knife pictured here, model #3, has been used by the Canadian Armed Forces since 1964, obviously it is a well tested knife. It would be great to see some of your brother in laws others knives.
