I was looking at both in a catalog and they look the same but prcing is more on one. Same handles same blade lenght. What's the diference between the cs179123 and the cs1792478?

According to Canal Street's numbering system, 179123 would be natural wood, while 1792478 would be stabilized wood.

On the other hand, Canal Street hasn't always followed its own numbering system. I've seen a Half Moon trapper numbered 1139529, where the 3 is supposed to mean D2, but the certificate says 14-4 CrMo. In that case, the certificate was correct.

the 179123 is the canal street "open stock" American Chestnut D'holder Bowie - the 1792478 is an exclusive run Canal Street did for Blue Ridge Cutlery that has a different series number - and a D'Holder signature etch on the blade.

Drop point I was looking at your ebony wood scale knives . Are they stabilized?
