All About Pocket Knives

I often find old folding knives that have been sharpened enough that some blade profile loss is an issue. The worst of it is when a previous owner has used a bench grinder to sharpen the knife. Sometimes I will buy an old knife and see the need to reprofile one or more of more blades due to blade loss. This often leads to the loss of the little choil indent at the base of the edge.

The question I have is how most collectors treat the loss of the choil indent. Do you leave the blade without an indent or grind a new indent at the base of the sharp edge? If so what do you use to remake the indent? (dremel grinder, triangle file or other tool)

Sometimes I will grind off one side of the file and put the dull side next to the kick.
That way I am not filing off the kick too. It helps to get a good straight line down the kick.
