All About Pocket Knives

I bought this 307 and the sheep foot blade has a pin coming out of back of blade, never seen one like it be-for does any one know what the pin would be used for?

I finally got around to finding you an answer. Here is what Phil Gibbs, formerly of Camillus knives says. "It is a glob of lead!
After the blades were almost finished, the ones that need to be "set" (bent so as to nest with the Spey blade in the closed position in this case) had their tangs dipped in molten lead to anneal them so they could be bent without breaking.

It is unusual that a droplet of lead to stick to the blade like that, but it did happen."

So there is an answer that is likely plausible. I bet you will now go and see if you can pry it off....

thanks 300bucks for the info after looking at it with a magnifying glass I think you might be right, I tried to scratch it with finger nail and could not it must be a hard alloy of lead don't think I will try to pry it off if it came from the factory that way it will be a good conversion piece.

I would leave it on the knife too - great tidbit of Buck lore there!
