As you know, the government is buying up ammunition by the millions of rounds, buying everyone out, but I also read that they are destroying the spent brass, probably so that there's nothing left to re-load

Sorry pigsticker you won't find primers either.
Everything is gone right now. I've been told by my distributors they think maybe they will start seeing some ammo in April....I'm figuring at least August at minimum for some powder and primers to start trickling in.....maybe....

Google Bud's Gun Shop. It's in Lexington, KY and they do a big Internet business. I just ordered two boxes of 200 gr .35 Remington leverevolution from them the other day. Pickings is slim out there.
I don't know about .22, but their price was pretty good on the .35.

I've been told that they should hitting the shelves by the end of April. But i bet everybody sells out instantly.
I lucked out and found 6 boxes a few days ago at $5.00 a box. I jumped on then faster than a chicken catching a june bug!
Yesterday i walked in walmart and watched them put a m&p 15-22 in the display. I bought it too.

Not so long ago you could get the little 50 round boxes for $.99 almost everywhere. Guess those days are over, glad I'm sitting on over 2,000 rounds of. 22LR.

Got 5 bricks in at the store yesterday.....have 2 50 round boxes left tonight....and didn't even bring any home with me!
Sold them all for 38.50 a brick and 3.85 a box.....regular pricing on winchester super x.
I ain't about to cheat people just because there is a scare on....I'd rather make sure more people are prepared!
gunshow locally had lots of $1500-$2000 ar's for sell. a guy I know asked each dealer how many they had sold as he walked around at the end of the last day of the show....all told him not a single sell on the ar's.....DUH! I would've priced them $100 above cost and moved them puppies!
But, that is just me. it seems like I must be the only one who owns a gunshop feels this way right now.

2 weeks ago I bought a brick for my son because he can't find any where he lives. It was $45 for a brick of 525.
I think I got the last brick at the show. I think the only reason I got the brick I did was because we almost bought a Kel Tek from him, but all he had was a 9MM & not the .380 my wife wanted. His wife had told my wife they had a Kel Tek .380. My wife was filling out the papers when her husband said they were out of .380 and only had a 9MM left. I think my son got lucky & I got the ammo out of pity!
It wasn't any easier finding .380 ammo either. Fortunately a friend of mine had some at home and brought it in the next day.

I have been watching some ammo, that a local shop sells on auctionarms. I heard they won't even sell to a walk in customer, since they are making such a killing on internet sales now.
The shop I deal with, wants to keep the league shooters in ammo, and will only sell you 200 .22's and 200 primers a week. He has not increased the prices either. He is trying to keep the regular customers shooting, and not cater to the hoarders, until this blows over. I think it is getting a little better, from what I can tell. I see a Colt AR on the list that sold at $1150, which is getting back towards normal.

In the words of our own "Late Great Johnnie Fain"............. "Buy more Ammo!" He has passed from us a few years ago, but he could see the writing on the walls. God bless you Johnnie, I got a few more boxes in my safe than I normally would have!

Johnnie was a man who could see through the fog. I took his advice as well and I'm glad I did. I sure do miss that guy.

There's one place left here that has most anything but there are 2 catches.
1-You have to buy range time to get the ammo.
2-You have to take me and buy an hour of time and ammo for me
I have an un-named friend that's been feverishly re-loading for about 5 years now. He's a 3 time Bronze Star receipant along with a Purple Heart and 29 years in the Rangers. I think he might know something? This all Su*ks.

I went out this morning to see what was around in my area in 22 LR and only one shop had any at all and it was not on the shelves but behind the counter and if not for asking the counter person I would have never known. It was however his last box and it was marked down from $25.99 to $19.99 Remington 22 LR HP Brass plated 525 RDS
Every where I went and asked I was looked at like I was crazy and the response was generally laughter followed by a nope and havent had any for a while.
I feel like I scored

This really blows my mind

I use to buy used ammo for peanuts,by used I mean someone else bought the stuff before me and never used it or only used a few rounds per box, the .22 cal. stuff I would not pay for and when I bought the other ammo off a guy he would usually throw in all the .22 cal rounds for free
Look at this box on feebay, I have several of these old boxes that are full. This box has the rounds in it, that is why it is going so high
