I just finished this one up this evening for a fellow here on the forums. I didn't get too hasty and remembered to take some before shots. It didn't snap, was rusted, pitted, the liner lock didn't work, was bellied out and.... well I'll let the pics tell the rest.

Your a magician.

Somewhere here, you pulled a rabbit out of your hat.

I'm impressed. ::tu::

Nice work Kaleb!

One suggestion an old knife repairman (about 85 years old) told me:

When you have had to take the belly out of the blade like that and the choil is gone from the base of the blade, he said take a small triangle file and cut the choil notch back into the blade. That way the blade looks more original.

Just a suggestion. It was hard to tell from your pic if the choil was gone or not. I have tried it on a couple knives & it sure makes them look better.

Nice clean up job though! I love to see these old soldiers brought back to life.

I gotta agree with Jeff, Profesionally cleaned and restored. Nice work, taking a rusty hulk and turn it into a jewel. Looks great!

Now that's what I call restoration. Nice save on an old junker!
