I have a Jowika
knife made in Ireland,...anyone know anything about this manufacturer?

In 1960, German firm Jowika opened a knife manufacturing plant in Listowel, Ireland. In 1978, Imperial acquired this factory and began producing some of its pocket kives there. During that period, Imperial was one of a group of knife companies all owned by Imperial Knife Associated Companies group which also included Colonial and Hammer.
In approximately 1985-88, Imperial Group restructured the corporation, ceased using the Imperial name alone, and began using the combined name Imperial-Schrade on all its knives.
