All About Pocket Knives

Love this bulldog...especially with the swedge blade. Thinking this bone is called honeycomb...but that's a guess. It measures about 3 3/4"...it has the 2 fighting dogs on the tang with the BULLDOG BRAND etching. I'm not sure what generation it is...or the BKC#...or if there's a lot of these...I just know I really like the knife!! Haven't been able to find one that looks like it on the web.

I don't believe your knife is an older 1st generation Bulldog, at least not one that was put into regular production. That Bulldog Brand reverse frosted etch was used on some early stockman dated in the late 70's, that leads me to think it is a German made knife and not a current USA
What does it say on the rear of the tang? Is it dated?
I have not seen that bone before on a bulldog knife but I agree that it is a fine looking knife.

thank-you Junebug, and also thank-you for the info Tom...there's no date and the back of the tang reads "Bulldog Brand Hammer Forged Solingen Germany"...could I possibly have a less common piece??

I am going to go out on a limb here and say what I think you have is an unmarked prototype that was never put into regular production. A lot of the early prototypes had handles of a different color and most were one of ones. Some had bone handles and some were celluloid. Most all were marked prototype.
Parker had a lot of prototypes made also so this could be one of those.

Here are some of the early prototypes that had different color handles, some were bone, than any that were put into regular production. I got these pictures from a post I started on rare 1st generation bulldogs a few years back.
