All About Pocket Knives

I picked up a number of pocket knives this past week-end and this one from Germany has me a bit stumped. Perhaps I'm missing part of the name on the tang, so I'm having difficulty doing any research on it. Camplough 69? Can anyone shed any light on this please. cheers

That tang stamp looks like "Camplough over 69". I'm not 100% positive about the last letter. Looks like an 'H' but I suppose it could be something else. Nothing in a Google search for "Camplough". Where are the boys with the books when you need 'em.

Jerry, nothing in the books either, this is where experience comes in, and Google will never replace that At least I hope not

The knife is marked Lamplough, it is a Canadian based knife wholesaler. The knife in question is obviously made in Germany and is of good quality.

Thanks Dimitri. Sometimes reading old tang stamps takes more than a picture and that's where your experience comes in, knowing that's an 'L' and not a 'C'. Good job.

I sent an e-mail to the company with pictures of the knife and they kindly responded. Not much information, but it's a nice knife for my collection...you have to read the response below with a French accent

It has been about 30 years that we were selling these pocket knives, all I can tell you is that we purchased them from Germany they were made in the late 60's early 70's.
