Straight razor/pocket knife

My wife inherited this ROBESON ShurEdge USA pocket knife. It belonged to her Grandfather, Lt. Edgar W. Sheppard, who was killed in the wreck of the USS Shenandoah in 1925. It has a straight razor as the main blade, and file with a cuticle point as the 2nd blade. How common were these? I have never seen one before.

It is a WW 1 Navy officers knife (probably not standard issue) . In the condition it is in it is probably worth $100 - $150 . Several other makers produced these (Case , Catt. , etc...). Maybe Charlie will be along soon and give you further info .

Click on this link to another thread I started to get more info. Myself and a couple other members posted a similar example made by CASE and a beauty also from Robeson that Charlie has.
This was a contract knife made by a few different companies to military specs. Common as I understand but I personally have not seen that many.

Great Knife
And I think it is in Great condition... It's a keeper without a doubt and I didn't know they even had that Blade Configuration for a military issued knife. 1 knife in pocket is all you needed, finger nails and cutting rope and stuff. Simple, I love it. Now I want one
