My kid brother lost his whittlin' knives. He was able to get some replacements from my collection but is still looking for a few others.

Knives need to be 1095 (or maybe D2); I think his last carving knives were Schrade OTs and Bokers. He needs a large (ca. 4") stockman, and maybe a congress with sheepsfoot/coping/pen blades. He's also looking for a Schrade 194 OT that has been tipped, to convert to a Wharncliffe blade.

Cash or trade; cash might take a few days to set up as I will have to contact him for approval first. I can trade anything I've got listed in the "Knife Trading" forum, or maybe a few others that are laying around.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim,

How about an 34OT?

Thanks, but the 34 OT is too small--he already turned down the one I offered him. Something the size of an 8 OT is about right. Smaller knives are just hard to work with for long.

I made the mistake of letting him look at some of my personal work knives, now I have to make him a mocataugan too. Just like mine, but left-handed.

Thanks Jody, but I got him kitted out. He wound up with:
--a large (4 1/2" or so) Sheffield congress with 2 wharncliffe blades, a pen and a coping blade
--a Schrade 8 OT
--a fixed-blade wharncliffe in 52100

He should be set up til his next divorce. . . . and by then my collection should have recovered!
