All About Pocket Knives

Sorry if this has laready been asked. Been collecting for several years but just jumping on the Great Eastern band wagon. I have just a few 235209, 735208LP, 542208. I understand how to decipher the numeric pattern # but what's up with all the alphabetic abreviations...J, T, LT, EC, LP, B, STLB, EJC, etc. Is there a chart that defines these alpha abbreviations?

Thanks for the info. Exactly what I was looking for. Here's some pics of my first three Great Easterns. The pics aren't that good. I took them in a hurry with my phone. I am very pleased with them. I believe I have found yet another collecting interest. I like stag and the UNXLD shield really caught my eye. I would say the 23 pattern is my favorite. Although, I really like the long pulls on the 73. Yet, the 54 has some great stag. Like a kid in a candy store. I like them all.

We will be adding our abbreviations chart to our web site very soon, thank you for pointing out that it should be there.

There ya go. Sometimes you get so busy running a business ya just don't think of those things. Glad you saw this. Thanks for putting out these great knives.


Now that we have your attention, add a quarter inch to the 33 and equip it with a clip main blade, coping blade and either small clip or pen blade. Ta da! Great Eastern/Camillus 72. You could call it a #27.

Someone please remind me what the PPP, etched on the reverse of some blades, stands for?
