Case Question

I have a 1965 to 1969 Case stockman #6375 tang stamp CASE XX with U.S.A.
I was checking it out in the Manufactures Forum and it states that this knife has "pretty bone" scales.
Now they look like red bone to me, but my question is, What is "pretty bone"?
I know just look at my knife

i have some with "pretty bone" scales also. some are red, some are green, and some are brown, kind of a universal description, eh? you can call yours pretty red bone scales.

Pretty bone vs. red bone vs. ????? I've also asked a similar question before. Does pretty bone have to do with the color or the jigging? How does one KNOW if a knife is "pretty bone?"

Most of us Case guys use the term "Pretty Bone" refering to knives made from the XX era up through the mid 70's. The reason is that we won't use "Red Bone" for any knife that isn't what we condsider true Red Bone. True Red Bone knives were only made during the XX era and they are RED. A lot of late XX era, U.S.A., and early to mid 70's knives had some reddish color, some were orangeish, and some brownish hence the term "Pretty Bone". Tony Foster likely should get the credit for the term, he uses it on his knife list a lot. Hope this ain't too confusing.

Knifekid is right on there is a red bone forum going on in the general knife discussion area at this time, many of the case knives are not what some collectors consider true case red bone. If you buy a knife that is what they call pretty bone these dealers and collecters will not pay what they would for case red bone.

Actually I need to amend my post a bit. You will, from time to time, see a late Tested era knife with Red Bone handles. Sorry I left that out.
As far as the question of the week goes...I have no idea but would guess China

By now China probably is, they make everything else so now we are financially dependant upon them.
Last I heard most Panama hats were made in the South American country of
Ecuador and I think they go back 150 years or so.
