What happened to the Whaler pattern knife?
Don't they make it any longer?
I don't see any for sale at the dealer's sites and rarely see one on eBay.
Thanks and HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!

looks like the whalers took a back seat to the lumberjacks & the roughnecks. i have a decent amount of all these biggies but still see lots of l.j.s. & r.n.s on dealer sites & wonder why collectors seem not hot on these patterns. the toenails have large followings but maybe that is the max size collectors desire. one of those knife mysteries that only history can answer.--HiPower

whalers are certainly a different pattern--notice in addition to different master blade the much larger bolsters of the bone & stag whalers. one of those you wonder of what happened just as the stock whitts & the toothpicks. my guess they did'nt sell well.--HiPower

Earl,
Those shields are far and few.... But the proper one for a knife that size. I wish I owned a whaler with that shield. I have a few Sunfish with it, but not the Whaler Nice Piece

Thanks bonehead I appreciate it! I missed the boat on these when they first came out so it was tricky to acquire them.

I asked them at the factory if they would be making more whalers...I think his name was Chris ,he said they are a very hard blade to grind. Thats why they haven't been making them. I love them.So far I have collected12 Elephants , Whalers and Sunfishes ,mostly GEC's. I'd trade all 28 mint Case knives I have for 6 mint Whalers. When I learn how to take good pics I'll post some pics here.
