I am not a buck collector but I notice this one on ebay thats a bit different.

I will stand down wind and spit in the air if that is not a home grown scale job. In my humble estimation that is a home done rescale job, likely home made jigging but could be a parts harvest from another companies knife. Gaps on the bolsters should and likely would have not been tolerated for a factory knife nor a pro knife mangler. And someone has sanded down the nail nic to a scale top depression.

Makes it unusual. I have a few of those myself.....

Looks like a display knife from the way the delrin is aged like the desert.

That clip blade has been seriously hacked up.

I am sorry for my incomplete post earlier. Yes, the clip blade has been ground down, I am guessing the original tip was snapped off and this was the re-ground result. This was a older model Camillus contract Buck 301, likely the last version with orginal scale rivets. Notice the tang stamped Made In U.S.A. with 301 on reverse. Again without fanfare, this is a rebuilt, modified Buck 301 from the 70's. The normal small cutout for the reverse nail nic has been ground out and the top edge of the reverse scale is "dipped" to make access for blade nic. The scale material may have come jigged that way or that could be 'home made' jigging of some light colored plastic or bone. They likely are scales robbed from some lower quality knife and replaced the black sawcut delrin. NO orginal 301s came with that type of scale, nic 'dip' edge or ground down blade..... There I feel better.........300Bucks
