KA-BAR stockman I found today.

Today, while browsing a local thrift store, I ran across a KA-BAR stockman with two blades in what appears to be a rosewood handle. I dont own any Ka-Bar knives, but for twelve dollars, it seemed to be a solid knife in mint condition so it followed me home. The stamp looks to be 1058 or 1053 with KA-BAR USA. I dont have a magnifying glass so it's difficult to read. I've searched the web only to find these in a three blade version and nothing I've found only has two. Also, I've read it's difficult to date KA-BAR knives. Does anyone have any idea of the value? Should i keep it in my EDC pile or keep it with my collection. Thanks in advance for your reponse.

Nice knife Dave!
Looks like it's a 1058, search of completed auctions on eBay shows between 15--20 dollars for ones in similar condition to yours.

One of the listings mentions that it was likely made for Ka-Bar by Camillus. Hope this helps,
Mike

Ok, thanks Mike. For no more than it cost, I wasn't going to turn it down. I'm not a fan of wooden handles, but the name drew me in. Glad to know I "didn't get burned."

Good knife (especially for the money) - by the way (and just for your info), it is a Jackknife (Texas Jack is one term for that style), not a Stockman (same frame, differnent blade configuration). That is one of my favorite style pocketknives - very nice too! OH

Thanks for the info Old Hunter. As a fairly new knife collector, I wasn't aware of the difference in the two blade configurations. It was a cheap price and the KA-BAR name had my attention so it followed me home.
