Old Style Lockbacks

Being a fan of traditional slipjoint knives, I've owned very few lockbacks. But lockbacks have a long tradition!
A good one combines some of the usefulness of a fixed blade with the convenience and portability, and of course concealability, of a folder.
Here are some older ones, three ebony Empires, and a jigged bone Ulster. These tend to be big knives, and the smallest one here, on the left is 4 1/4" long (closed of course). I love the sense of style and aesthetic of these knives. If you an older lockblade, please add it to this thread!! I'd love to see more of them, although I can feel my wallet gringe as my interest grows!

Very nice. I've been a lockback fan sice I was a kid (and I'm over 50 now).
My preferred EDC is a Case Copperlock; I have several in both sizes and rotate them as the mood moves me.

OK, I will take the bait. Attached are five old Schatt lockbacks. Wonderful pieces of engineering. One Stage, one imitation onyx, the rest bone. Keep up the good work Charlie.

I love the jigging on your knives, it makes me want to go back and get all those vintage Robeson's I sold..

So nice to see someone of your caliber on the forum. Folks for those of you that don't know Mr. Clark, he is a gold mine of information and extremely versed in Schatt and the famous Dollar Knife. I am very proud to know him and David Kraus

Here's a nice old Cheetah . . . USA era (1965-69).
Also . . . a nice pearl-handled Buck (not sure how old though).

Not an old lockback but an old-style lock back. Made by Arthur Wright & Son Sheffield. 4 1/2 inches long, carbon steel blade with matte finish and nice rosewood handle.
