All About Pocket Knives

Shown within is a pre WWII "J.A. Henckels" folding guard lock back model. This variation is eight inches in total length and has "J.A. Henckels Twin Works" (above) "Solingen Germany" preceded by the "Twins" logo and all stamped lengthwise on the blade.

Those are beautiful examples and the swing guard is uncommon with the spear point blade, thanks for the pictures.

Thanks, and good call, yes it is.
Both the Germans and English seemed to favor pen blade lock release mechanisms for both manual and spring fired folders, which was a clever idea.

i have the same henckels swing guard, the quality back then was second to none imo.

Very nice examples. The two top models each had over a sixty year run starting in the late 1800s and continuing on well past WWII.

I just picked one up like the one Doormann posted. Thing locks up nice and solid.

Oh my goodness! You guys really own some dream-knives! Too bad that most of the vintage stuff is worn or was lost in one of the two wars here in Europe....

A few days after admiring your fantastic Henckels knives here I ran across this one. Unfortunately someone had messed with the tip of the blade so I had to reshape it.
I am not particular satisfied with it but I suppose they are hard to come to by here in Germany and I have to be conted with what I´ve got.

Has anyone every seen the picklock in a catalog?

I looked through five full or partial catalogs and did not see it. Mason will know.

As I recall from years ago, you have a great collection of minty Henckels.

Can anyone tell me anything about this old Henckels. I’ve looked and looked and can’t find a thing
