All About Pocket Knives

I don't know much about Remington Knives so I am asking for some help. Found a 4" stockman with the pattern number 3506 on it. This has the green swirly handles on it and a hokey looking bow tie shield. It aslo has the Remington UMC circle stamp on the blades. I have been looking at things and see this should be stag, but apparently at some point in the past a Remington with this pattern number sold on ebay with yellow handles. How likely is it that this knife has not been altered? Also 3506 must be a rare pattern because not much comes up on this and I have a very general reference book that omits this pattern but does have 3503,3504, and 3505 listed.I'd appreciate comments on this. Looked in three reference books (Stewart and Ritchie, Sargent, and Price) all listed the 3503, 4, and 5. None listed a 3506. Remington didn't really make that many stag handled knvies therefore I would first suggest that you double check the pattern number. If it has celluloid handles the pattern number should be 3505, pretty easy to mis-read as 3506. A bigger concern is that all three references list it as being 3 3/8" long. If the pattern number IS 3506 and the knife IS 4" long, I'd say the chances that it hasn't been altered are pretty remote.

I did look at the knife and it is R3506 - 100% certain. I assume the knife is a phony and it always gets me. If someone has the skill to fake a knife why don't they take the time to at least check the pattern numbers. Putting the wrong pattern number on a blade in is a dead give away. On a Case knife this would jump out at you. The knife is 3 7/8 long. I appreciate your information and I don't have much $ in this, but will chaulk it up to expreience.

Is there any chance of posting a couple pictures of said knife?
