All About Pocket Knives

Came home from Indiana yesterday and my landlord had left a sack on the assembly bench out in the garage. In the sack was a book he thinks I should read and this unnamed automatic. I know nothing about it. The only mark on it is "Stainless" and a couple of dots stamped on the tang. If there was ever a country of origin on it, it's long gone with no evidence of intentional removal.

It fires well but lock-up is a tiny bit weebly wobbly, not much, just a little bitty bit.

Any and all help and or opinions are greatly appreciated. My guess is foreign manufacture with Japan or China being my first inclination, in that order.

looks like a Chinese coil spring fired automatic [ these can be bought in parts and put together yourself or pre assembled ],,,,,you could probably get some of the side to side play by tightening the pivot screw a bit or remove it and put a bit of locktite on it , set its play and let it dry so it dont back out with repeat firing.

My wife has a stainless auto in her purse that is the same way I figure it's a Chinese it fire's pretty damn hard acyually--
Looks like your knife has had the pivot screw replaced notice it has a phillips head instead of a torqes

Thank you gentlemen. After I posted (why not before? ) I went looking with Google and found several with that clip/spring cover on the pile side. All Chinese made.


wiseguy -- It's a fine line between taking out the play and slowing down the fire speed.



PigSticker -- All the screws are Phillips head. I wonder if they're metric. I wonder if it would be worth the trouble finding replacements with Torx heads. Nah, probably not.
