All About Pocket Knives

Anybody have any experience with David Boye knives?

I had one several years ago, most likely still here somewhere.

They are utilitarian. Not pretty.

But, the man knows what to do with a piece of steel. He does something that he claims realigns the molecules in the steel into a parallel relationship with one another and then makes his blades so that the molecule's parallel lines are running toward the cutting edge. He also claims that when honed, those microscopic lines create a very microscopic serrated edge affect, one that cannot be seen nor felt, but exists.

He calls his blade steel, "Dendritic Steel".

I'm no metalurgist, so I trusted him when I bought the knife.

As I said, it ain't pretty.The handles are a shiney black Micarta type material. It's held together with what look like pop rivits.

But, you will love the way it sharpens, holds its edge and performs whatever task you ask of it.

He probably makes prettier knives than the one I have.
