No, neither. This is the same knife that I bought a while back that I use as an EDC. This one has the same blade etch as the one I have that I can barely see. First one I've seen with this etch. Wish it were mine

Looks like it comes from the era from '60 - '72 when Queen wasn't using tang stamps.

I am thinking that the date is late 1940’s when Queen used a lot of Rogers bone. They got the “Q” trademark in 1946 after WWII and changed their name to Queen Cutlery from Queen City. I was told by Bill Howard when he was still at Queen that the “etch” is really a sand blast – you can tell that by the way the stencil is cut to form the letters. I have only seen this blade marking on the three patters shown here, all in Rogers bone. Blades are carbon steel – see rust on the #11. Another clue to dating the knife is the use of the carbon steel which was usually paired with Rogers bone handle material.

Thanks for the replies Jerry and David. I would sure like for mine to be late 40's early 50's. The knife looks to be a lot older than 60-72. This is the one that I have and carry every day. You can barely see the blade etch in the second pic, but it is there just as in the OP. It is a top-notch knife with great steel that takes an edge and retains it and the handle match is perfect. Wish it didn't have the bone chip, but I will live with that.
